Ensuring Individual Capability and readiness in delivering the activity

The process of delivering learning and development session was an initiative I had not been actively involved in the past. The far I had gone is delivery of a presentation and as such the delivery activity was significantly out of my comfort arena. I wanted to ensure that I was on the appropriate path and as such, I had to ask my colleagues for their critical assistance, and they assessed their notes to note if there was any point that I had failed to include in my presentation. Additionally, it took me a significant amount of time in making the most appropriate decision on my practice and what I was supposed to deliver during my session. In my selection, I had decided to present on the factors of employee retention and how the employee’s competencies impact it. In this case, I provided the competency statements as I had already gained confidence in this area after practicing it over the past several years. From my courage and determination on this topic, I appreciated the fact that I would be in a position of answering any question posed to me and actively participate in the process of learning.

Also, after a successful design of my presentation and adding all the notes to the slides and understanding the handouts that I would be using, I ended up delivering the session to a part of my family members. This was an ideal opportunity for them to guide me in areas that I needed to change and be objective as possible so that I would obtain the best results. Interestingly, one of my family member seats on the CIPD board that is tasked with successful accrediting candidates to become certified human resource practitioners. This was an ideal opportunity for my work to be looked upon by a professional in the area of my study. He equally guided me on best practice in lesson planning and ensured that I successfully adopted it in making them better for the audience. This was one of the most significant guidance I received that improved my activity and ended up presenting my lesson with considerable conviction.

Ensuring Availability of Space, Equipment’s, and resources for the activity As a best practice in providing that I had enough space in the process of my live presentation, I first double checked the list I had for my class in making sure that there existed sufficient space in the room to accommodate all of them.
