1.0 Introduction

In the contemporary business environment, sustainable organisation strategies and managing sustainable organisation activities, and coping up with a consistent change of business environment. This is while being aligned with structure, culture, and strategic practice being critical. For achieving this, ODD is identified in CIPD (2020a) as a practice and outcome shaping an entity structure and with alignment with purposes of an entity and operation context in review. Further, environmental scanning is critical, ensuring that the company has good insights into the macro and micro factors affecting the company and how they should be capitalised on to achieve its objectives. According to Domingues et al. (2017), change management aims to achieve sustainability across all dimensions, including product and service development and implementing the new business delivery approaches. Therefore, it is necessary to highlight that varying organisation development strategies can be used to facilitate the potential change management that supports organisation design and realignment of varying outcomes. Besides, this depends on the organisation culture, norms assigned, and set behaviours (Kornilaki & Font, 2019).

The internal analysis of the UK tourism sector where the organisation operates can be pursued through SWOT Analysis. Considering the hospitality and tourism sector where TG organisation operate, Statista (2021) report identified the business drivrs to include change in clients spend patterns, changes in customer preferences, sustainability, changes in customer profile/demographic, online/e-commerce an new and emerging technologies. As evidenced in Duxbury et al. (2020) research study, the identified key business drivers impact the scope in which organisation design and development strategy and practice is harnessed. The author highlight that TG could achieve this by prioritising on investment on creative tourism which is a reaction to a rapidly growing mass cultural tourism integrated with the growth of the travellers to play more active functions in their journeys. In the current COVID-19 pandemic, Covid (2020) identify this to be instrumental as tourism represent the fastest growing economic sectors harnessing the scope of economic growth. These drivers impacting on TG operations are directly impacted by the pull factors from talents and cultures of UK populations and other customers in relations to place of living.

In regard to internal analysis, for TG organisation, UK tourism sector today is worth over £257 billion as at 2025 which is shortly under 10% of UK GDP (Visit Britain, 2020). This is while offering support to approximately 3.8 million jobs which is approximately 11% of overall UK number. Also, for the strengths, tourism impact is significantly amplified in the economy and impacting broader than just the direct spending levels (ONS, 2021). In regard to weaknesess, Arghutashvili (2018) identify the issues of culture and service economy fluctuations impacting on the UK tourism sector. The opportunities include the Visit Britain (2020) report of the prediction of an annual rate of 3.8% by 2025 which is substantially higher than the entire UK economy (expected to have 3% annual growth). Finally, for threats, COVID-19 pandemic, economic recession have significantly impacted on the UK travel and tourism sector.

In order to underscore the importance of organisation design and development, this report focuses on the TG, which has been established through a merger. Today, the TG structure is fit for future-based practice with the external factors influencing the TG and change implication and organisation development being in detail put into account. In the end, reliable recommendations have been obtained for TG organisation development and design to guide the organisation in achieving sustainability.
