Q1: What a Saudi MNC can learn from Lavazza Internationalisation Strategy
First, Lavazza Internationalisation strategy was through the application of strategi partnerships with restaurants and hotels for catering for US customers. While this was a strategy which was supposed to ensure that Lavazza ventures in the US markets and other international markets, MNCs need to improve on it. For Saudi MNCs, while venturing into international markets, the best approach is entering the markets directly as independent organisations. Also, as a best practice by opening subsidiaries in the international markets, Saudi MNCs would do better compared to the Lavazza case. Secondly, it is important to strategically approach international competition as part of the venture.
