Solution
Culture
A positive working culture does not happen spontaneously, but it must be created through different ways including LMD initiatives. Proper training is the most important way to improve organisational culture (Alshammari, 2020). Organisational leaders and managers must raise up to improve their team’s comfort level. If people lack confident to speak to their leaders and managers, opportunities for reinforcing culture may get lost. Organisation values get lost because of lack of effective training and mixed messaging. LMD initiatives helps to share values, mission and vision and cement a strong culture where everyone understands how to behave and way of doing things. But effective sharing of vision and mission does not appear spontaneously. Leaders and managers need effective training to understand how to reinforce right behaviours and values. When leaders and managers act in a way that is incongruent with the organisational values, people may be come disconnected to the vision.
Strategy
L&D strategy outlines the skills, competencies and knowledge an organisation require to achieve its corporate goals and objectives (Nayak, 2018). An effective LMD initiative can help United LEC to attract and retain talents, increase individual morale, satisfaction and improve profitability. Organisations that invest in training are likely to achieve their strategic goals; for example, if United LEC aims to reduce turnover rate, LMD initiatives can help keep employees onboard and focused on mission and vision. Furthermore, because L&D strategy seeks to equip people with necessary skills and knowledge, and effective LMD initiative will help staff members within United LEC to focus on what the business wants to achieve in the future.
Reputation
One of the ways in which United LEC can become an employer of choice is to create a culture of learning and development. Organisational reputation is determined by how people perceive and view the company as a better place to work (Angulo-Ruiz et al., 2022). People who are trained are likely to produce quality goods and services, satisfy customers and perhaps make them feel happier (Angulo-Ruiz et al., 2022). This has a positive contribution toward organisational reputation. LMD initiatives can position United LEC in the industry by communicating how successful the company is. This is vital in attracting top talents and retaining them for a longer period. However, lack of proper training can make people leave and destroy organisation’s reputation.
Performance
Effective LMD initiatives can ensure skills and knowledge development and optimise individual performance. Soft skills like problem solving and communication can improve success throughout United LEC. When leaders and managers are trained, they are then poised to transform learning into actionable goals (Akdere and Egan, 2020). They also impart their skills and knowledge to employees which helps them to perform their roles effectively. With skilled and knowledgeable staff members, each department is likely to experience increased productivity and performance. A negative impact could be declined in production when training is not aligned with people needs and organisational needs. This is why learning need analysis is important to ensure training is purposeful and returns are positive.
