Ethical Issues: Discrimination as part of Recruitment

A case example of unethical issue is a phenomenon where resourcing/recruitment policy is discriminatory to potential employees of specific age stratification, gender and racial orientation. According to Cheatham (2024), this form of undertaking is violation of ethical-based standards of conduct demanding a fair-based approach, equality and respect of workplace diversity negatively impacting organisation cultural practices and image.

In an event I noted the issue exist, I start with data collection which include recruitment statistics and documentation of policies for supporting the assertion. My manager would be made aware, or people practice leadership through whistleblowing or grievance handling process in a professional and anonymous manner. According to CIPD (2019), failure to continuously have the issue addressed would lead to management and compliance teams coming together to address this. As part of this, recording of overall actions and sticking to code of conduct of the organisation to report unethical behaviours for maintaining integrity of engaged players while adopting to appropriate procedures would be relevant (CIPD, 2024b).

Legislation Challenges: Working Time

A case example for this is an organisation which enforce a requirement of employees to work in an average of 48 hours weekly with no choice for declining the choice as stipulated in Working Time Regulations 1998. The legislation is a safeguarding to staff through noting maximum working hours weekly as 48 apart……………………
