Please provide a written overview of when you have used time management skills effectively within a business role. In your response please comment on your situation and why you selected that particular way of manging your time. During this time, which interpersonal skills did you require to use in order to meet your deadline?

In your answer provide an updated version of your PDP and comment on how you can be more effective in that area.

TASK B

Highlight a time where you have had to solve a business problem effectively and during this time, discuss the influencing skills that you used to overcome the situation. In this instance, focus on the skills you have had to use rather than a description of the situation.

Time Management is the process of organising, planning and mastering how to divide your time between specific activities or in other words refers to managing time effectively so that the right time is allocated to right work. Good time management enables you to work smarter rather than work harder so that you get more work done in less time, even during tight deadlines and high pressure situations Time management includes but not limited to vital planning, setting goals or targets or objectives, setting time limit for the respective tasks, delegation of responsibilities, prioritising activities and spending the right time on the right task etc. Like in any industry, Time management plays a vital role in hotel industry as well. One of the most valuable assets for any hotel operations is how its managers spend their quality time at work. Schedules and structures are important aspects in each and every business day.  There are certain conditions that may vary from hotel to hotel due to the size, kind and the level of service, the number of different departments as well as other management requirements that have to be coordinated, conducted, while being supervised. Creating an effective common schedule is not possible for every individual situation however each manager should create a basic schedule outline as well as creating and maintaining list of things to do in an assembled fashion. According to Mr.Valerie P.Jackson(2009), the key elements of time management are goals, organisation, delegation and relaxation.
