Beowulf is presented in Scandinavia, often in the fifth or sixth century A.D. This is a society identified to possess a strong value to strong warrior-kings with a potential of protecting their populations from external interferance. According to Christian (2018), through a strict adherence to this code, the warriors were tasked with the role of demonstrating unwavering courage, increased loyalty to their leaders and a high level strengths and skills in combat. Further, Surroca et al. (2010) noted that they were equally supposed to stand for their families and tribes by taking a blood-revenge against anyone who killed a kinsman or friend.
