Emirates Driving Company (EDC) has been in operations since 2000 and tasked with the roles of facilitating training and road safety services in Abu Dhabi UAE (EDC, 2018). It is hence a public joint company that is partially owned by the government of Dubai. It is founded on the facets of the ISO 9001-2008 requirements after a certification in 2007 and a subsequent renewal in 2014, 201 and the OHSAS 18001-2007.

The purpose of the company is providing the highest quality driving education, training and standards that are exceeding their customers’ expectations and contributing to an increase in the level of awareness on the road safety in their community. This is also through a provision of a productive work environment enabling individuals to actively work as a team and assisting them in creating, innovating and effective operations. Through this, it has been possible to attain a high level client satisfaction exceeding their overall expectations.

The organisation is located at Mussaffah Industrial Area Abu Dhabi UAE.  It is a middle-level company which is evident from the existence of its subsidiaries such as Qeyadah Driving Institute LLC operating and managing their automobile driving schools. In regard to the types of services offered, they include;

  • Light vehicle, heavy vehicle, heavy bus and motor cycle driving training services
  • Motor vehicle driving training and services for the nationals and expatriates living in UAE
  • Providing an opportunity to their clients to participate in safety education as part of harnessing their traffic safety awareness

In regard to the organisation customers, they include;

  • Expatriates living in Abu Dhabi
  • Fresh adults interested in learning how to drive
  • Government authorities tasked with managing the Abu Dhabi, UAE transport sector
