Solution

1.1

Coaching and mentoring are defined in CIPD (2020) as strategies put in place I an organisation as effective approaches to developing employees. The two concepts have substantially growth in terms of their popularity with majority of organisations adopting them in enhancing the skills, performance knowledge of their employees and acquisition of specific skills and goals..

Coaching is defined as a process of producing optimal performance and improvement in employees work roles. In its implementation, it focuses on skills and goals despite of having equal implication on individual personal attributes including the social interaction and confidence.

Mentoring identifies the relationship in which a more experienced colleague shares their greater knowledge to support the development of an inexperienced member of staff. It is inclusive of the strategies put in place to question, listen, clarify and reframe all issues linked to coaching skills.
