1. please write two paragraphs on how critical thinking skills are important in nursing to help resolve conflict in the clinical setting. 2. please write three to five paragraphs on the scenario i have listed below to accomplish this question “describe a specific example of a conflict you have experienced in your professional role in which you utilized critical thinking skills to resolve the issue.: – in 2011, i started my first nursing job at south seminole hospital, an 80-bed psychiatric hospital providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics suffering from mental and addictive disorders. -south seminole hospital was a very busy and stressful clinical setting leading to low employee morale, high turnover rate and burnout, and lack of employee motivation. -finally, after three months of new graduate nursing training i felt that i was ready to take on my own patient load on the evening shift. -during the first week of working on the evening shift i followed the same day shift nurse for two days and each day i was over-burdened with nursing tasks left over from the day shift nurse. -it started to happen more and more with the day shift nurses leaving uncompleted nursing tasks for the evening shift to complete. -the extra nursing tasks lead to the evening shift nurses feeling frustrated, burnout, and calling out from their scheduled shifts. -as the new nurse i was starting to feel that burnout, especially when nurses started calling out from their scheduled shifts. -since i was the new nurse i did not want to bring the issue to management, but i felt the need to speak with the other nurses to identify a resolution for the conflict. -i decided to develop a conflict management plan to discuss with all the nursing staff in the behavioral health unit. -over the years i have learned three very important things about approaching conflict to include seek understanding, always assume positive intentions, and establish a common goal. -in order, to resolve the conflict of day shift nurses leaving uncompleted nursing tasks for the evening shift to complete all the nurses must have the same overall goals which is quality patient care and the need to understand one another’s position. -during the discussion nurses we were able to identify how the left-over tasks are impacting that common goal and develop a mutually agreeable list of “never leave task.” -once the discussion was complete the developed plan was reviewed with the leadership staff of the behavioral health unit and follow up and reevaluation was done to make sure the agreement was working and if any additional changes needed to be made. 3. please write two paragraphs on the last question “why do you see this as an effective use of critical thinking?” ***need to fill up two pages based on the information listed above***
