Role of Leader Differing from a Manager

As evidenced in Mansaray (2019) study findings, a leader and managers roles despite of being used interchangeably are distinct. Their differences are dependent on the context of their use and scope of application in the modern business environment. For example, with the leaders roles entailing team guidance, influencing members to perform holistically and successfully in their assigned objectives, a manager role is distinct. The role of the managers is to manager is to spearhead an orgaisation or a particular project across a set of plans, direct, maintain and coordinate all stakeholders by making sure they are holistically in control. It is in this regard that Rolland et al. (2018) highlighted on the fact that management include all processes adopted in controlling groups operating in an organisation set-up with the sole intention being achievement of their assigned objectives. At the same time, the roles of the leaders are to ensure that they influence, motivate and enable all employees to contribute appropriately to the success of their entity.

It is appropriate hypothesizing that the two concepts are coexisting. The leader cannot survive without the manager. Hence, they all need to work in collaboration for wellbeing of their organisation.
