Ethical Values- Integrity
Ethical values represent standards defining what is right or wrong in terms of behaviours in workplace and guiding active decision making (Zheng et al., 2021). Through enhancing people professionals’ integrity, they are able to promote equity, courteous and accountable professionally.
One of the ethical values which I hold heartly is integrity. According to Kadry et al. (2020), integrity entail embracing honesty and elaborate with trust-based relations with individuals and their teams. According to Kadry et al. (2020), they become more confident and responsible. I make sure that I follow maximum integrity in my working which is manifested by being accountable, trust-based relations and professional.
Examples
Example 1: I ensure that I adhere to confidentiality and maintaining equality in making decisions. For instance, in my current placement, there was a staff who was suffering from a health complication but ensured the information was maintained with confidentiality (CIPD, 2022). I initiated trust-based relations and gave the employee essential adjustment without fearing discrimination or disclosure of the information given.
Example 2: Recruitment process in my organisation- In this practice, I make sure I treat all potential recruits/candidate equally amongst the entire teams while ensuring recruitment phases are clearly identified. According to CIPD (2023), the outcome of this is ensuring that the recruitment strategy is appropriately identified with candidates given timely feedback on success of the recruitment process.
