  Investing in evidence led leadership and management development brings about many benefits to Saudi Telecom Company (STC) however, some of the most significant business benefits are employee engagement and retention. The more developed leaders are, the more supportive, transparent and more motivating work environment they tend to foster. Moreover, it leads to higher job satisfaction and lower turnover rates, as explained by the CIPD (2021). Directly, high engagement levels reduce recruitment costs and protect institutional knowledge for STC, where attracting and retaining digital talent is critical. Yet for operational managers balancing daily responsibilities with development activities, there is a potentially short-term negative of the time and cost invested in training.
