(Solution) 7C004 Task 3.2: Provide evidence of how you have analysed, organised and interpreted the data collected for your project

Solution

Selected Title: Business Research in People Practice Impact of Training and Development on the Improvement of Employee Performance in the IT sector of Saudi Arabia

In this research, quantitative analysis was carried out. This is from the questionnaire collected data (see appendices); This is by evaluation of the respondents demographics, ways in which training and development offer opportunities for employees career growth opportunities, ensuring employees highly motivated with capabilities strengthened. Also, relationship of training and development to employees effective leadership has been reviewed.

3.2.1 Questionnaires Analysis

To start with, through frequency analysis, demographic characteristics of data was established. This was intended to establish existence of conspicuous features of more evaluation. With a total of 53 respondents, 57% included males and 43% female. This is with majority being of age  26 to 45 years at 81% (see appendix). Further, approximately 74% had participated in a training and development program where 59% indicated that this had been provided in their current organisation. Further, a mean value and standard deviation was carried out for establishing the appropriate training and development and opportunities offered for career growth. The respondents showed neutrality in regard to the different traiinng and development. On the job training and development had the highest rating (mean=3+/-1.09) closely followed by coaching and mentoring (mean 2.098+/-1.064) and partnering with learning institutions (mean 2.88+/-1.230)

3.2.1.1 Determining Ways Training and Development Assist in Offering Opportunities for Employees Career Progression

After analysis of the demographic data of the respondents, an analysis of achieving this research objectives was pursued. The first objective was to establish the ways training and development assist in offering opportunities for employees career growth opportunities. In the questionnaire, open-ended questions were posed for establishing the most appropriate way. By use of a Likert Type of Scale (Phakiti, 2020), this was used to source all the information of the different respondents (see appendix).

Further, as illustrated in the appendix, the researcher also linked the demographic data with the most appropriate training and development to establish their link with offering opportunities for career growth. This was carried out by use of Chi squared test to test the association (or independence) of categorical variables (Hutchinson, 2021). Null hypothesis was obtained evidencing independent nature of the variables. Hence, with p value from analysis being significant, null hypothesis is rejected hence researcher noting the link of demographic variable and criterion.

3.2.2.2 Determining how Training and Development assist Organisations to keep Employees Highly Motivated while Strengthening their Capabilities

This was part of the second research objective which intended to evaluate the link of training and development and employees motivation and capabilities (Murray et al., 2022; Musriha, 2019 and  Aburumman et al., 2020). The findings indicate that with more than 70%, the respondents positively indicated training and development as having a direct correlation with the independent variables. By use of the Likert Scale, descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) were appropriately applied for evaluating the entire relationship (Saunders et al., 2015).

3.2.2.3 Relationship of Training and Employees Effective Leadership

In order to evaluate the existence of this relationship, linear regression analysis was used. The rationale of this was to establish the different factors in a simultaneous manner. This is for reflecting real-life scenario of factors acting in an independent way from each other for informing performance results. According to Hutchinson (2021), for including the factors in form of independent variables, area of consideration is prevalent of linear link with training and development being the dependent variable. Employees effective leadership was applied as an independent variable. From the adjusted R squared value (adjusted for sample size); approximately 61% of independent variables evidence the further changes in training and development being CI of 91% (10) which equal to 8.7, p<0.01). Hence, the coefficients can be noted as appropriately influencing effective leadership.
