Task One – Ethical practice paper

Meaning of Ethical Principles In SpringerLink (2021), ethical principles are defined using normative theory as being a justification or defender of moral values and/moral judgement. A different definition is provided in ArticleLibrary (2021) identifying people professionals, they pursue ethical principles for assuming holistic responsibility, development, ethical leadership, fair-based practice and just conflicts management.  A summary of the areas of interest for the people professionals are as illustrated in figure 1;

Importance of maintaining ethical codes at work
To inform the manner of people approach to their roles, CIPD (2021) note the ethical principles as promoting a trust-based practice by role-modelling of ethical behaviours. This is modelled with principles and values embedded in decision making.
Ethical principles influencing work as a people professional Building respect- People professionals must treat all individuals with appreciation and dignity. Irrespective of personal feelings, a respectful people professional need to be a must.
Credibility– Decisions made by people practice professionals must be credible and all-inclusive. The people practice professionals are always credible with their functions and believable with trust-based relations initiated.
Positive influence on others– A people professional must be able to influence the rest in a holistic manner. By feeling appreciated, the employees would be best positioned to execute their functions. Meaning of professional values; influence Considering professional values, they portray professional image reliably, consistently and honestly (Bradford, 2021). This is at the same time offering appropriate work outcomes in appropriate quality level and on time. This is categorised in the CIPD HR professional Map as a core knowledge and include set of values and instructions and rules which apply to a particular job role (CIPD, 2021a). For instance, working in MNGHA which is a Saudi Arabia (KSA) healthcare sector, I make sure I embrace high-level honesty, good appearance and conduct. Importance for professional being values driven
As evidenced in CIPD (2022), this include HR professionals being able to develop a common purpose of employees and assisting them in building significant work relations. Culture support appropriate communication and to appreciate employees to develop harmonious working environment.

Legislation For UK case, legislations exist and codes of practice which support ethical and professional strategy. For instance, Equality Act 2010 (CIPD, 2021b) identify it as important to ensure employees are not discriminated in any employment phase owing to possession of protected characteristics. Also, in line with CIPD Policy Framework, CIPD (2021b) evidence a phenomenon where an entity assume legal and moral obligations through an act of diversity and inclusion of all employees. In its application, considering the Equality Act 2010, in the recruitment and selection phases of the employee relationship, there is a necessity of its implementation with zero discrimination owing to having the protected characteristics. For example, working in XXX IT company in Saudi Arabia, I make sure all employees are not discriminated in their resourcing phase.
Code of practice
Also, in line with the CIPD Code of Professional Conduct (CIPD, 2021c), it represent a guidance of ethical and professional strategy relevant for entire people practice professionals. This is implemented with a necessity for upholding and maintaining relevant standards and behaviour/obligations documented. Through appropriately pursuing the code of professional conduct, CIPD (2021c) argue that the process is promoted through highlight of distinct conflicts of interest. This is relevant for differentiating personalised and professional capability.
For my practice, I ensure that in my organisation, the employees work without any form of bribing or acting inappropriately such as abuse of people rights as they are working in the organisation. Also, for the healthcare employees who work in MNGHA, they are provided with an equal opportunity of ensuring the private data is not breached. This is while all the patients being granted with quality healthcare services under my employees leadership.
