Solution:

1.       An evaluation of what it means to be an HR professional in the contemporary and emerging business environment. (AC1.1) (approx 200 words)

In the contemporary and emerging business environment, a successful HR professional is identified as possession of a detailed understanding of specific requirements of a job area. According to CIPD (2016) the job areas include knowledge to manage an employee database, intelligence set employment laws and a comprehensive knowledge of writing and developing a strategic business plan in alignment with the already set objectives. As an HR professional, there is always a need for possessing the capability of developing essential skills. The skills demand is a common factor since the HR managers are actively engaged in the management of individual remuneration, benefits, and pursuing progressive career development.

Also, in the contemporary business environment, an HR profession is involved in advocating for the company and their employees. In this case, the HR professional is the one engaged in establishing, maintaining, developing and managing the policies of a company. This is done for ensuring that the benefits of both the employers and employees in the country labor laws and best practices. This is in line with Balance Careers (2019) report that has identified the HR professionals roles to include acting as a strategic partner, employee advocate, and a change champion.  Further, according to the HR function roles by David Ulrich, the HR professionals understanding these roles lead their organisation in development, strategic utilization of employees for serving the business goals and talent management and development.

2.The range of knowledge, skills and behaviours required by HR professionals and stating why these are important (use the terminology from the CIPD Profession Map and illustrate with examples as appropriate). (AC1.1) (approx 350 words)

The CIPD map provides a detailed categorization of what HR professionals should operate in an organisation and their relationship with other members of an organisation. This is in line with CIPD (2018) that has noted that the CIPD profession map is strategically designed
