8.0 Performance Analysis
As aforementioned, the Emirates Telecommunications Corporations (Etisalat) is a UAE company engage with their distinct subsidiaries in the provision of telecommunication services, media, and equipment. Additionally, Kolachi and Akan (2014) observed that Etisalat is actively involved in the provision of o0f services such as contracting and consultancy services to international entities and consortia. Its success in their performance is evident from the 100 million customers who are served by the company. Over the years, reports indicate that the company has consistently leveraged from an increased profit by increasing their size and subsequent growth as a consequence of improved performance (Mangi & Siddiqui, 2013). For instance, in 2018 alone, Etisalat group had reported AED 4.3 billion in terms of net profits and performance increasing with 12.4% by the end of the year (Etisalat, 2018). Further, as at the end of 2018, Etisalat had achieved 1 million VoLTE subscribers with the latest launch of the commercial 5G network in the MENA region. This is further expounded by its latest partnership with Microsoft as a strategic approach of delivering a comprehensive and trusted Microsoft cloud from their initial datacenter which is currently located in the Middle East.
Additionally, as noted in Tubaishat and Lansari (2011) report, the UAE is ranked as the global leader in the Fiber Optic Network Cable for the second year in a row. As a consequence, Etisalat was awarded the most valuable telecoms brand in the MENA region offered by the Brand Finance at Mobile World Congress. This is on top of other awards due to their successful performance such as TL9000 certification as an international quality standard for the telecom industry and PCL/DSS certification for maximum safety of all their client’s data at all times if engagement.
The increased performance of Etisalat is an indicator of their critical ability of innovation and leading in the telecom and digital services arena. In the future, their performance will continue to place them as a technology leader with their latest 5G launch being an ardent indicator of their success in performance. The company is currently best placed in leveraging on the available benefits in all segments of their clients. The financial performance is equally a good ground for their investment and as such enabling them in introducing a new solution which is instrumental in reshaping the entire telecommunication industry and altering the current business operation dynamics. The performance is equally improved as a consequence of successful commitment and critical strategic prioritization of their digital future practices, the transformation of their current ecosystem of operation and driving the digital innovation across their distinct operations.
